How to Take a Proper Driver Profile Photo
At Monochrome, your profile photo is more than just a picture, it’s the first impression riders will have of you. A clear and professional photo builds trust, helps passengers feel safe, and ensures your account complies with our ID verification standards. To help you look your best and meet our requirements, here’s a quick guide on how to take the perfect driver photo.

✅ What a Good Photo Should Look Like
Take a look at the example provided above, this is exactly what we’re looking for:
Full Face Visible
Your entire face must be clearly visible and facing the camera directly. No tilted or side angles.Shoulders Included
Make sure your photo shows the top of your shoulders. This gives the image a formal and complete frame, just like a passport or official ID.Plain Background
Use a simple, neutral background (like a light grey or white wall). Avoid busy or distracting backgrounds. No Accessories
❌ No sunglasses
❌ No hats or caps
❌ No headphones or earpieces
These items can obstruct your face and won’t be accepted.Proper Lighting
Stand in a well-lit space — ideally with natural daylight. Avoid dark shadows or bright lights that make it hard to see your face.Dress Neatly
While there’s no strict dress code, we recommend wearing a clean top or shirt. A casual T-shirt is fine, but avoid any offensive graphics.
❗ Common Mistakes to Avoid
Uploading selfies taken at odd angles or too close to the camera
Using filters or effects
Taking pictures in cars, on the road, or in messy environments
Including other people or pets in the frame
Cropping out parts of your face or shoulders
📸 Tips for Taking the Photo
Use a tripod or ask someone to help. If you can’t, prop your phone up against something stable.
Position yourself in front of a wall and stand about 2–3 feet away.
Set your camera to eye level and look directly into the lens.
Smile slightly or maintain a neutral expression but no funny faces!
Take a few shots and choose the clearest one.
