Q. How do I sign up to drive with Monochrome?

Signing up to make money driving with Monochrome is easy. Download the driver app and fill in the recruitment page. Once we receive your application, we will request documentation, upon approval you’ll be ready to start earning good money on your own schedule.

Q. Do Rider Discounts affect Driver earnings?

No. Whether the discount is 15%, 50% or even 100%, drivers will get the full value of the ride as Monochrome covers the cost of the discount. You don’t have to worry about lower earnings as you’ll still receive the full ride fare and, since discounts bring in more riders, overall earnings actually go up.

Q. How do I get paid for driving with Monochrome?

Our payment cycle runs from Monday 00:00 to the following Sunday at 23:59, after which you’ll receive a balance statement. If you’re due a payout, you’ll receive it on a weekly basis — no need to wait until the end of the month.

Q. I am a blocked driver, how can I contact Monochrome?

You can contact Monochrome through chat support. There is easy ways to open our chat support, there are links in the emails we have sent to you or in the login page of our drivers app.

Q. How do I change my bank account details?

You can submit a bank statement of the new account through the driver app.

Q. I want to delete my Monochrome driver account. What do I need to do?

You can contact us through chat support and we can action this for you.

Q. One of my documents has expired. How do I update my documents?

If you want to update any document you can do that from your driver app. Please go to the "main menu" > "document uploads". You can then select the document type and enter the expiry date. Documents take up to 48 hours to reflect on your account once submitted.

Q. Do I need a car to drive with Monochrome?

Yes, but if you don’t own a car, then don’t worry — there are other options available. in some cities, longer-term renters can get long term rental contracts which are accepted by Monochrome.

Q. Can I rent a car from Monochrome?

Unfortunately, Monochrome does not currently rent vehicles to drivers.

Q. How do I change my vehicle category?

If your vehicle qualifies for a particular category, your car will be registered in that category automatically.

Q. When Monochrome conducts car inspections, what do we look for in particular?

The inspection will check for the following aspects:

  • Brakes and Suspension

  • Functionality: Brake lights, turn indicators, dashboard electrical components and headlights.

  • Electrical components functionalities: Air conditioner, floor & foot mat condition, car horn, mirrors & adjustment, windscreen wipers (noise-free), vehicle stereo and odour free.

  • Fluid level check: Brake fluid, engine coolant, windshield washer fluid, automatic transmission fluid, cabin air filter and power steering fluid

  • Safety check: Fire extinguisher, hazard warning triangle, jack & accessories and spare tyre

  • Cosmetic check:Interior: Vehicle and trunk cleanliness, comfort, safety featuresExterior: Body free of scratches & dents, no windshield or window cracks, no external mirror cracks, no body panel colours and the trunk opens & closes freely

  • Tyre check: Tyre pressure and tyre tread pattern match

  • Any other defects.
